Work it! Zoe Saldana

Every week I’m going to try and feature someone that inspires me fashion or style wise.

This week is all about actress Zoe Saldana. She’s starting to become a household name, but I’ve admired her work for years. She also shares my Puerto Rican heritage.  I do have to say, that recently she has been looking very thin. I hope the industry is not getting to her! :(

“Zoe Saldaña (born Zoe Yadira Zaldaña Nazario June 19, 1978) is an American actress, known for her recent roles as Anamaria in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Uhura in the 2009 film Star Trek, and Neytiri in the 2009 James Cameron film Avatar.

Saldaña was born in New Jersey to a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother.

She enlisted in a ballet class at one of the most prestigious dancing schools in the Dominican Republic, gaining experience as a dancer, which benefited her later for her role in Center Stage. She returned to the U.S. after her sophomore year in high school and enrolled in the Faces Theater Program, an acting course.

Saldaña has a keen interest in fashion and has her own fashion line called Arasmaci, where most of her designs are influenced by her Dominican heritage.”

Work it Zoe!

Merry CHRISTmas!

Hey World!

Ahhh! Christmas is next week and I’m so excited! My little sister is visiting from Michigan and we’re going to have fun, fun, fun! I’m craving some mint Oreos and and chocolate soy milk right now. Mmm. Mmm.

Jesus is the Reason for the Season, if you don’t know, now you know!

I’m also ready for 2010! I feel it’s going to be awesome! I’m expecting lots of good things! Are you? I’ll post pics after the holidays of me enjoying it all :) I’m revamping my whole life this new year. Lots of big changes. Stay tuned! I have so much work to do! If everything goes as planned I moving back to Miami in March. Woohoo!

Here are just a few things that make this time of year sweet…besides the obvious family, giving, etc. Jesus is included!

Hot Chocolate and Sweaters! Love this vintage pic of Marilyn Monroe!

Coats and Boots!!! These are cute! The fur is faux and it’s 1,000 bucks. Whoa!!!

And last, but most definitely not least! The Nativity! The birth of Jesus! The is the reason why we celebrate. I encourage everyone to watch The Nativity Story. It’s a beautiful movie! Mary is an inspiration!

Worth the Wait

wait1

Hey You! How are you? What’s going on in your life right now? I want to know…

I’m enjoying a beautiful Sunday in Texas…thinking. Thinking about moving back to Miami soon. Not sure if I should, so I’m praying for direction.

I’ve been thinking a lot about marriage and having babies lately. I really thought I would be married by now, but God only knows why I’m not. I guess I have some learning to do in the love department. I’m hoping it happens soon! I’m looking forward to experiencing that part of life. I know whenever it happens it will be worth the wait!

Thinking about doing another blog today!

I’m totally rearranging my life right now, to be more productive. I need to make some changes in order to accomplish what God wants me to do.

Whenever I do get married, I’m almost sure I’m having a destination wedding on the beach. Fun! Fun! Fun! For everyone! If you’re not married, what kind of wedding do you want?

Ahhh!

Can’t fight the feeling…

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I’m finally back to blogging and it feels sooo good! I miss the beach sooo much, by the way. That’s why I have a beach pic up. This one is from Hawaii. I’m hoping to go there soon! Anyway…

This time around I’m doing more fashion and image posts. One of my passions is fashion! I’m also working on a fashion business, so why not blog about that part of my life! I love vintage fashion and pretty pictures, so I will blog a lot about that.

Blogging also helps me vent and take my mind off some things. I’m trusting that God is directing my steps and I’m choosing to live life one step at a time and one day at a time. Amen!

Here are some of my favorite fashion sites! I’ve been inspired by these lately-

1. LOOKBOOK.nu

OMG! (Oh my goodness!) I love this site! It’s wonderful! I stumbled upon it on Twitter several months ago. It’s the the internet’s largest source of fashion inspiration from real people around the world. It’s goal is to bring together diverse, aesthetically talented and open-minded people from around the world and showcase the best in international street fashion.

I’m hoping to get invited in the near future and post some looks from me and my boutique! Here are a few of my favorite recent looks! There are soo many to choose from! Did I mention that I absolutely love this site!

2. Miss James and Bleubird Vintage Blog

I don’t know Miss James personally, but she is one of my favorite people on the internet! She also lives in Texas, where I’m currently living for a lil while. I love her swagga! She has some dope style and I love her passion for all things vintage. I stumbled upon her store several years ago through Myspace, as I was thinking about my store. I also plan on selling vintage soon! Here is a recent post from her blog, with pics of her room. Ahhh! It’s cute and inspires me. I want lights on my bed and that chandelier lamp!

3. Polyvore

Love this site too! You mix & match products from your favorite stores and shop looks created by the web’s largest fashion community. It’s soo cool that you can go directly to the store site and purchase any piece. Here is some cute stuff that I’m adding to my wish list. I’m really into purple right now.

Purple tiered coat
$120- dorothyperkins.com
